I enjoyed every single bite, and even delighted in a fortune cookie afterward. I was already on Cloud 9 with our recent news, but imagine how excited I was to get this as my fortune:

I immediately showed it to Hubs and asked if he thought it meant my intuition about us getting pregnant the first time we try was right. He smiled and said probably so.
I am excited and feel really good about things this time around, but I have to be honest and say I am going to be pretty upset if I don't get pregnant the first time we try. Now before you think about leaving me a mean comment that you know you won't leave, hear me out. For the last 12 months I have had to sit by, knowing full well when I was ovulating, and not try for a baby. To me, it was like 12 forced BFNs (for those not in The Know, that stands for Big Fat Negative pregnancy test). If you've been a friend of the blog for a while, you also know that I used OPKs (Ovulation Predictor Kits) for many of those months just assure myself that I was in fact still ovulating and still fertile. It has been torture. There were quite a few months where I told Hubs to screw it (no pun intended) and knock me up anyway. He never would consent because he said it felt like he would be sentencing me to death. It has been ROUGH.
The only thing that helped get me through sometimes was the thought that I would get pregnant the first time we try, which is next month. So I clung to that hope each month and used it to get myself excited to let that cycle go by without being too upset. I never really let myself think about how I would feel if it didn't work because it was a thought I couldn't handle. Call it the silly, irrational infertile in me who is still suffering with PTSD from her first bought with infertility.
There have only been two people in this world that I have opened up to about the "what if it doesn't happen?" One of them was my husband, and it was last night. I just sat there and bawled. I hadn't really let it out before, so all of my fears came spilling out. I am just not ready to be back in the infertile fight. I can't let myself think about if it doesn't work the first time, how many months will it take? I can't bear to think about cycling and all of the TWWs (two week waits). I feel like I have already fought hard enough to get pregnant, I deserve to be so the first time we try.
Why all of a sudden did this torrent come out? Because I am going to ovulate in the next 36 hours (I have two OPKs on the back of my toilet so that I can chart the LH surge). This is going to be the last egg that is purposely wasted. Next month, that egg will have a shot, and that shot is about 32 days away (the ticker is off thanks to last month's cycle where I ovulated late and had a 14 LP instead of 12). I'm nervous, but I am so excited. I don't know if my intuition has been telling me it will happen the first time, or if it is wishful thinking on my part, but I have to go with the first because I don't choose to handle the latter right now.
Next month at this time, I will be trying to add another member to my family. Finally! After all these months of heartache, struggle, and setbacks. We will finally be back in the game for real. It feels different this time around. I am filled with hope and excitement. I choose to believe my feelings are my intuition. That's what every fibre of my being says, and I'm going with it.
